Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. For over 55 years the Kiwanis Club of Durango has been supporting programs and activities aimed at improving the minds, lives and futures of the youth of La Plata County. Durango community service is our primary goal. Even the winning ribbons showed the spirit of the July 4th holiday.  Spirit of Durango Award  Many of the attendees at the July 4 barbecue showed their patriotism through their attire. In 2007, the Kiwanis Club of Durango Celebrates 60 years of service to the kids of La Plata County.  Young and old alike enjoyed the face and body painting at the July 4 barbecue.
